You know that feeling when you order a pizza and suddenly regret it? Not in Vincennes.

This town takes its pie seriously, from the crackly thin crust at Byron Bobe’s to the gut-busting deep-dish at Bill Bobe’s, plus a few curveballs like Procopio’s dreamy flatbreads and Kelso’s golf-course tenderloin. I even chased a $3 margarita with a two-hour drive, because that’s what research demands.

The range here runs from speedy counter-service slices to sit-down spots where the stuffed salmon gets equal billing. One bite of that Penny Lane at Vinyl Pies and you’ll understand why I keep coming back.

Scroll on, hungry.

Fast service despite being busy
Great value over fast food

You know that feeling when you order a pizza and suddenly regret it? Not here. Frank's is the kind of place where you walk in hungry and walk out needing a nap. The portions are huge, and the price is almost silly. I tried the pulled pork sandwich, and it was perfect. Juicy, smoky, no fuss. The Chupacabra burger? A standout, for sure. Even with a full house, the service moved fast. Honestly, it's better value than any fast food drive-thru. I left full, happy, and slightly embarrassed by how much I ate. Bring a friend. Or don't. More for you.

Susan Bobe's is the pizza place that understands you. You want it hot, you want it fast, and you want it delicious. They delivered on all three, no problem. The staff was friendly and professional, the kind of people who make you feel like a regular on your first visit. Now, the sauce-to-crust ratio? Just right. Not too wet, not too dry. And those red pepper toppings? Heavenly. I found myself planning my next trip before I finished my first slice. It's worth repeat visits, and I'm not ashamed to say I've already gone back twice this week. Go. You'll thank me.

Quick service, dry rice
Salsa tasted off
Queso was okay
Friendly table service

Okay, so El Corral isn't exactly the pizza spot, but I stopped in anyway. The service was quick, which I appreciated. But the rice was dry, and the salsa tasted a little off, like it had been sitting too long. The queso was okay, nothing to write home about. The table service was friendly, though, which saved the experience somewhat. I wanted to love it because the staff was so nice. But the food just didn't match the warmth. If you're in the area for a drink and some chips, fine. Just don't come expecting a culinary revelation. I'll stick to the pizza joints on this list.

Best pizza around, hands down

Worth the monthly trip

Sam's Pizzeria is the hands-down winner in my book. Best pizza around, no question. The pie I had was beautifully crafted and incredibly tasty. You can tell they take their time, and it shows in every bite. The crust? Perfectly crisp. The cheese? Melted just right. The sauce? Balanced and bright. Every detail was executed perfectly, from the first slice to the last. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's worth the monthly trip. I would go weekly if I could. If you're serious about pizza, skip the chains and make the drive. You won't be disappointed. I promise.

Friendly service from Hilda

Hucks might not be a pizzeria, but it deserves a spot on this list for its morning game alone. The staff is amazing, especially Hilda. She remembers your order, your name, and your day. The place is always clean and stocked, which matters more than you think. The food is always hot, and they keep it coming. The manager goes above and beyond, checking on tables and making sure everything runs smoothly. It's a familiar comfort, like a warm blanket on a cold morning. If you're in Vincennes and need a solid breakfast or a quick bite, Hucks is your spot. Just don't expect pizza. They don't do that here.

Amazing deep-dish pizza
Fresh salad bar
Hot, soft breadsticks
Great lunch specials
Awesome customer service

Bill Bobe's is where I go when I need a deep-dish fix. That crust is a marvel, thick and buttery, loaded with toppings and cheese. The salad bar is fresh and crisp, a nice contrast to all that carb-heavy goodness. And those breadsticks? Hot, soft, and perfect for dipping. The lunch specials are a steal, and the customer service is awesome. Everyone there seems to genuinely care about your experience. I came in skeptical, because deep-dish can be hit or miss. But this place knows what it's doing. If you're a deep-dish purist, this is your home base. Go early, because it fills up fast.

Thin crust with zero flop

Byron Bobe's Pizza House surprised me in the best way. I walked in for a quick slice and stayed for the breadsticks. Those alone are worth a return trip, no joke. The dining space is clean and welcoming, the kind of place you can relax in. The sauce and crust are fresh, and you can taste the difference. The counter service was quick and friendly, too. Now, the thin crust? Zero flop. It holds up beautifully under the weight of the toppings. I was impressed by how well everything came together. It's a solid choice for a casual meal. Go for the pizza, stay for the breadsticks. You'll understand.

Incredible $3 margarita specials
Gracious, unhurried service
Flatbreads and lasagna shine

Procopio's is worth the two-hour drive. I'm not kidding. The crust is the stuff of dreams, crackly on the outside and chewy on the inside. They have incredible $3 margarita specials, which pairs perfectly with the pizza, if you're into that. The service was gracious and unhurried, letting me savor every bite. The flatbreads and lasagna also shine, so don't limit yourself to just the pie. I made a day trip of it, and I left with a full belly and a happy heart. This place is a gem, plain and simple. If you've got the time, make the trip. You won't regret it.

Quick twenty-minute pickup
Creative “Penny Lane” toppings
Warm, welcoming atmosphere

Vinyl Pies is the best pizza in Vincennes, and I'll die on that hill. The ingredients are fresh, and the staff is friendly, which is a winning combo in my book. I ordered for pickup, and it was ready in twenty minutes flat. Now, the creative toppings? They have this thing called the Penny Lane, and it's a masterpiece. I won't spoil it for you, but let's just say it's a flavor party. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, even for a quick pickup. I've been to a lot of pizza places, and this one stands out. If you're in town, do yourself a favor and order from Vinyl Pies. Just do it.

Highlights
Pizza still delivers flavor
Quick counter-service format
Fresh breadsticks recommended
Familiar spot, changed vibe
Worth it for the pie

Monical's is a familiar spot, but the vibe has changed a bit. It's more of a quick counter-service format now, which is efficient but less cozy. But the pizza still delivers on flavor, and that's what matters most. The fresh breadsticks are highly recommended, too. They're soft, buttery, and way better than they need to be. I came in expecting a standard chain experience, but the pie was better than I remembered. It's a solid choice if you're in a hurry and want something reliable. Worth it for the pie alone. Just don't expect the old sit-down vibe. It's a different beast now, but still tasty.

Quick, friendly service

Good Italian beef sandwich
Spacious, uncrowded bar

Kelso's 19th Hole is an unexpected find. I stopped in for lunch, and the service was quick and friendly. The view of the golf course is nice, even if you're not a golfer. Now, the food. The tenderloin portions are generous, the kind that hangs off the bun and makes you proud to be an American. The Italian beef sandwich is also good, juicy and well seasoned. The bar is spacious and uncrowded, so you can actually have a conversation. It's a casual spot that doesn't try too hard, and that's its charm. Not a pizza joint, but a solid stop for a hearty lunch. I'll be back.

The Cafe Moonlight is more than just a pizza place, but I had to include it. The stuffed salmon is praiseworthy, flaky and full of flavor. And the chocolate cake? A dessert standout, rich and decadent. The service, especially from Isaac, was attentive without being overbearing. He made sure everything was perfect. The Wabash burger is well seasoned, too, and the fresh onion rings shine. I came for a quick bite and ended up staying for a full meal. It's a place that takes care of you, and the food is consistently good. If you want a break from pizza, this is your spot. But honestly, try the cake. You'll thank me.
