Look, I’ve eaten enough delivery pizza in this town to recognize the telltale signs of a kitchen that cares versus one that’s just going through the motions. Evansville has its own pizza logic, where a cracker crust from Steve’s can be the gold standard and a pistachio pie from Pangea somehow makes perfect sense.

You’ve got spots like ZeroCarb LYFE serving soggy wet wafers that insult the very concept of pizza, right alongside Turoni’s, which once fixed a wrong order twice and handed free food to a sick customer. The range here spans from sheet-pan slices you eat over the sink to Greek pizzas loaded with feta that demand a proper plate.

I’ve ordered all of it. This is the list.

Big slices, big value
Pistachio pizza is a standout
Top-tier meats and veggies
Friendly staff, evident care
Beer pairs with slices

Pangea Pizzeria Downtown is the kind of place that makes you question why you ever settled for less. I ordered a pistachio pizza out of pure curiosity, and it arrived looking like a masterpiece and tasting even better. The slices are enormous, the kind that requires a commitment and a napkin the size of a bath towel. The meats and veggies are top-tier, clearly not the sad, rubbery stuff you find elsewhere. The staff actually seems to care, which is unsettling at first, but you get used to it. Grab a beer with your slice, because why wouldn’t you? Big value, big flavor, and no big fuss. That’s a win in my book.

Personal favorite for pizza
Staff swaps ingredients easily
Best Stromboli in years
Local butcher sausage used

Spankey's Una Pizza has been my personal favorite for years, and not just because the staff will swap out ingredients without making you feel like a nuisance. They swapped half my toppings without blinking, and the result was still excellent. The sausage comes from a local butcher, and you can taste the difference; it’s not that greasy, flavorless crumble you get at chain joints. But the real star is the Stromboli. Best I’ve had in years, hands down. It’s hearty, messy, and absolutely worth every bite. The crust has that perfect chew, and the fillings are generous. If you’re not ordering this, you’re doing yourself a disservice.

Graham Slam requires two hands
Crispy crust, gooey cheese
Breadsticks dangerously good with marinara
Fast service, friendly staff
Fresh ingredients, obvious care

Casey's Dugout serves a Graham Slam that requires two hands and a serious appetite. The crust is crispy, the cheese is gooey, and the whole thing holds together better than my own life choices. The breadsticks are dangerously good with the marinara; I’d fight someone for the last one, and I’m not proud of that. Service is fast, and the staff is friendly, which is rare when they’re also dealing with a flood of delivery orders. Fresh ingredients and obvious care go into every box. It’s not fancy, but it’s honest. And sometimes honest pizza is the best pizza. That’s just science.

Handles complaints with creative excuses
Pizza looks and tastes fantastic
They clearly take their time
Every detail comes out right
Great monthly ordering option

Sam's Pizzeria handles complaints with creative excuses, which I found almost charming. My pizza came out looking and tasting fantastic, so I didn’t need to test their excuse machine. They clearly take their time, and every detail, from the sauce spread to the cheese distribution, comes out right. It’s consistent, which is more than I can say for my own cooking. They offer a great monthly ordering option, which is perfect for someone like me who can’t remember what day it is but knows when it’s pizza night. If you’re looking for reliability, occasionally peppered with a wild excuse, this is your spot.

Fast turnaround after ordering
Excellent food and atmosphere
Great for small groups

2nd Language is the kind of place where the drinks are worth the wait, and the food is even better. Parking is easy on weekends, which is a miracle in this town, and the turnaround after ordering is fast, almost suspiciously so. The atmosphere is excellent, not too loud, not too sterile, and the food matches the vibe. It’s great for small groups, the kind where you can actually hear each other complain about work. I ordered, ate, and was out before my ice melted. For a place that sounds like a high school language requirement, it delivers. Just don’t ask for a translation of the menu.

Best cookies in Evansville
Ideal for large events
Top-tier service team
Perfect for group meetings
Desserts worth the drive

Just Rennie's Cafe & Cookie Company has the best cookies in Evansville, and I will fight anyone who disagrees. They’re ideal for large events, mainly because you’ll need a lot of them to stop people from leaving early. The service team is top-tier, and they handle group meetings with grace, which is no easy task when half the room is staring at a phone. The desserts are worth the drive, even if you’re coming from the other side of town and the traffic is terrible. I’ve ordered for office events twice, and both times, the cookies vanished faster than the meeting agenda. That’s the highest praise I can give.

Highlights
Fresh, generous shawarma portions
Baklava worth the extra order
Staff helpful, counter service quick
Take-out proves popular demand

Manna Mediterranean Grill serves shawarma portions that are fresh and generous, the kind that makes you wonder if they made a mistake. The baklava is worth the extra order; it’s sweet, flaky, and gone in under a minute. Staff is helpful, and the counter service is quick, which is good because the line can get long. The take-out demand speaks for itself; I saw three people walk out with bags before I even got mine. It’s not pizza, but it’s a nice break from the usual greasy fare. If you’re into Mediterranean food and you’re in Evansville, you’ve already been here. If not, what are you waiting for?

Highlights
Cheap beer, fair food prices
Taco pizza wins families over
Roast beef sandwich is a standout
Quiet enough to hear your wife
Consistent takeout, year after year

Highland Inn is the kind of place where the beer is cheap and the food prices are fair, a combination that feels increasingly rare. The taco pizza wins over families, mainly because it’s basically pizza with taco toppings, which is genius and deeply American. The roast beef sandwich is a standout, though I’m not sure why I’m reviewing it in a pizza article. It’s quiet enough to hear your wife, which is either a blessing or a curse depending on your marriage. Consistent takeout, year after year, keeps me coming back. It’s not fancy, and that’s exactly the point. Sometimes you just want a solid slice and a cheap draft.

Highlights
Thin crust, soggy disappointment
Protein macros, minuscule portions
Delivery without confirmation heads-up
Not pizza, just wet wafer

ZeroCarb LYFE is a cruel joke dressed as a pizzeria. The thin crust is soggy, a disappointment that should be illegal. The protein macros are fine, but the portions are minuscule, the kind that leaves you questioning your life choices. Delivery arrived without a confirmation heads-up, so I spent an hour staring at a door. This is not pizza; it’s a wet wafer pretending to be one. I could have eaten a cracker with marinara and had the same experience. Save your money and your dignity. Order from literally anywhere else. I’m not angry, just disappointed. And hungry.

Saturday: 11 AM–10 PM
Highlights
Gold standard cracker crust
Strombolis are absolute must-orders
Decades of consistent local flavor
Easy to eat half a pie
Crustless pizza bowl worth trying

Steve's Una Pizza is the gold standard for cracker crust, and I’m not exaggerating. I could eat half a pie without realizing it, and that’s a compliment. The strombolis are absolute must-orders; they’re stuffed, crispy, and somehow not a mess to eat. Decades of consistent local flavor show in every bite, a reliability that’s rare in this town. The crustless pizza bowl is worth trying, mostly because it’s a weird concept that actually works. It’s like pizza without the dough, which is either brilliant or sacrilege. I’ll let you decide. Either way, I’m coming back. Probably this week.

Highlights
Delivery arrives hot and fast
Greek pizza earns repeat orders
Breadsticks dangerously easy to finish
Staff refills drinks without asking
Family and date night approved

Spankey's Una Pizza Downtown delivered my order hotter than a July sidewalk and faster than I could find the remote. The Greek pizza is a repeat offender in my household, and for good reason. It’s loaded with feta, olives, and a sauce that actually has personality. The breadsticks are dangerously easy to finish; I ate the entire order before my main course even arrived. The staff refilled my drink without me asking, which is either great service or they wanted me to stay hydrated for more pizza. Either way, approved for family night and date night, though maybe not both at the same time. That’s just logistics.

Highlights
Fixed a wrong order twice
Free pizza for a sick customer
Handles large groups with ease
Great sides, drinks, and service
Loyalty earned through real care

Turoni's Pizzery & Brewery once fixed a wrong order twice, and I still can’t decide if that’s impressive or pathetic. Either way, they own my loyalty now. I saw them give free pizza to a sick customer, which is either great marketing or genuine humanity. Probably both. They handle large groups without breaking a sweat, which is no small feat when your group is full of indecisive adults. The sides and drinks are great, and the service is attentive without being clingy. I’ve had my fair share of pizza disappointments, but Turoni’s makes up for every one. It’s the kind of place that earns your trust through real care, not just coupons.
